Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time position is available for a Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist to support a 3rd grade student in an elementary school setting. This role is designed for a dedicated professional with expertise in deaf education, providing specialized instruction and support remotely.
Location: Virtual position supporting a student in Carrabelle, FL
Duration: Contract through May 21st, 2026
Schedule: 5 hours weekly (1 hour per day, Monday through Friday)
Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instructional services tailored to the needs of a deaf or hard of hearing 3rd grade student
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide ongoing progress monitoring
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Utilize appropriate munication methods and assistive technology to facilitate learning
- Conduct virtual lessons and maintain clear documentation of student progress
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related credentials
- Experience working with elementary-aged children with hearing loss
- Strong understanding of munication methods, audiological equipment, and educational strategies specific to deaf/hard of hearing students
- Ability to deliver effective virtual instruction using online platforms
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills
