Building Maintenance Technician

Location: Boca Raton, FL (Four buildings within 1 mile of each other)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM + rotating on-call schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week (overtime rare; only for emergencies)
Compensation: $21–$25 per hour (based on experience) + $100/month travel reimbursement
Benefits: Health insurance (60/40 contribution), optional dental & vision, 2 weeks PTO after 1 year, 5 personal days after 90 days

Our client is seeking a dependable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and repair needs of four commercial buildings located within one mile of each other in Boca Raton. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and values a stable, team-oriented environment. The existing maintenance staff has been with the company for over a decade, reflecting strong culture and excellent employee retention.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance across four buildings, including electrical, plumbing, painting (high priority), drywall repair, fixture installation, and basic carpentry.
  • Respond to routine maintenance requests, work orders, and occasional emergency needs.
  • Conduct building walk-throughs and inspections to ensure systems and equipment are functioning properly.
  • Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors on tasks, updates, and issues.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency situations (rare).
  • Travel between buildings as needed (all located within 1 mile).


Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds without difficulty.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Painting (priority skill)
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical
    • Drywall installation/repair
    • Fixture installation
    • Basic general maintenance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a long-standing, close-knit team.
  • Reliable, energetic, and able to follow instructions and safety procedures.
