Job Summary
Busy Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a Operating Room Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Monitor patients during surgery, assessing their condition, vital signs, and anesthesia effectiveness.
- Administer medications and interventions as directed by the surgical team.
- Assemble and prepare the necessary instruments, supplies and equipment for the surgical procedure according to the surgeons preference card.
- Open sterile supplies with the scrub tech/nurse.
- Check the working order of the room equipment.
- Assesses physiological and psychosocial health status of patient.
- Document all patient information accurately and maintain thorough records.
- Continually adjusts care plan based on patient/family data.
- Demonstrates proper preoperative process communication/report.
- Demonstrates proper procedure and documentation for surgical case counting.
- Demonstrates proper aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates efficient turnover time.
- Demonstrates proper technique for obtaining blood products.
- Demonstrates proper patient identification verification per policy.
- Demonstrates proper surgical site identification and marking per policy.
- Anticipates surgeons needs during surgical procedure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications
- Valid Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Specialty certification preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Two years' experience as OR Circulator at Ambulatory Surgical Center.
- Minimum one year ORTHOPEDICS and SPINE experience.
LICENSE/SKILLS
- Thorough knowledge of the Nursing Process.
- Knowledge and experience in Perioperative care of the surgical patient.
- Knowledge of specialized equipment.
- Cost effective in the use of supplies and equipment.
