Job Description

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Legal Assistant to support attorneys with document preparation, case management, and client communication. This role involves drafting and filing legal documents, coordinating with opposing counsel and third parties, managing discovery, and assisting with legal research. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities
Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, notices of deposition, subpoenas, discovery requests, and settlement statements
File documents daily using the Florida Courts e-Filing Portal
Coordinate hearings, depositions, and mediations with opposing counsel and third-party providers
Assist with discovery, including interrogatories and requests to produce
Communicate clearly with attorneys, clients, and external parties
Maintain organized case files and calendars
Conduct legal research and investigate case facts
Ensure compliance with court rules and regulations
Process checks and handle additional administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications
Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities
Self-motivated and proactive in anticipating case needs
Able to meet deadlines consistently
Prior experience as a litigation assistant or paralegal in civil/plaintiff matters
Proficient with the Florida e-Filing Portal
Familiarity with County, Circuit, and Federal filing rules
Experience with legal research
Must pass a background check
