Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This role involves supporting civil litigation cases with a focus on landlord-tenant disputes and property damage matters. While much of the work can be done remotely, occasional in-office presence will be required for file organization and trial preparation.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough legal research and document reviews to support responses to summary judgment motions.
• Draft motions, responses, and other legal documents as necessary for trial preparation.
• Assist in organizing and managing large legal files to ensure easy access and efficiency.
• Support discovery processes by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing relevant case materials.
• Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for upcoming trials, including civil litigation matters in landlord-tenant disputes.
• Utilize case management software to track and manage case progress and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of case activities and updates.
• Provide assistance with trial preparation, including fact-checking and assembling exhibits.
• Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines throughout the litigation process.
• Facilitate communication between parties to support the resolution of landlord-tenant disputes.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in civil litigation.
• Proficiency in drafting Summary Judgement motions, responses, and other legal documents.
• Strong background in landlord-tenant disputes and property damage cases.
• Familiarity with discovery processes and legal research methods.
• Experience with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and files.
• Expertise in using case management software to streamline workflows.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
