Key responsibilities

• Design and drafting: Create detailed plans, 3D models, and renderings for custom cabinets and other millwork using Cabinet Vision software.
• Production preparation: Generate precise cut lists, optimize material usage, and prepare manufacturing-ready files for CNC machines.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, engineers, project managers, and production staff to ensure projects meet specifications and manufacturing constraints.
• Client communication: May be involved in client consultations, presenting design ideas, and providing updates on design and scheduling.
• Technical support: Maintain design libraries and potentially provide training to other team members on best practices.

Required skills and qualifications

• Software proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Cabinet Vision and other CAD software.
• Technical knowledge: A thorough understanding of cabinetry construction, manufacturing processes, and an ability to interpret blueprints.
• Attention to detail: High degree of accuracy in design and documentation.
• Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues in the design and manufacturing process.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
• Education: Postsecondary degree in a related field like CNC programming or drafting is often preferred, though extensive experience can sometimes substitute for a degree.
