The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.
We are currently seeking a FT Guest Services Supervisor at the Broward Outreach Centers in Hollywood, FL,
JOB SUMMARY
The Guest Services Supervisor (GSS) reports to the Assistant Centers Director (ACD) and will oversee the coordination of resident services including transportation, maintenance, and resident security. The GSS will provide the necessary oversight to ensure that the Centers facilities are maintained in a safe, clean and efficient manner and are in compliance with OSHA and other safety guidelines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
- Leads, trains, and evaluates staff
CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises Guest Services Assistants and oversees the facilities with a focus on cleanliness, safety and orderliness of the facilities and grounds.
- Prepares and submits requests for general maintenance and repairs when needed
- Conducts weekly walk-through of residential facility for safety, drugs, and locker searches
- Responsible for assigning weekly client service assignments, and ensures that assignments are completed
- Compiles monthly staff work schedules and ensures that adequate staffing is in place for both Centers to run efficiently
- Prepares and submits accurate time sheets and month end reports
- Provides summary of maintenance repairs needed around facility to the Program Manager on an as-needed basis
- Conducts monthly routine safety checks of the facility, and follows up on deficiencies and recommendations
- Coordinates periodic safety training in collaboration with the Program Manager to ensure all Guest Service personnel are appropriately trained
- Ensures storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals safely is done according to manufacturer’s recommendations
- Ensures policies and procedures for security, laundry, and transportation and GSA manual are always followed by staff
- Trains and schedules clients for transportation, laundry and security assignments, and monitors their performance
- Maintains up-to-date inventory listing of linens, chemicals and cleaning supplies
- Schedules and approves transportation requests and vehicle usage. Reviews daily check list of van driver or others assigned to drive van. Notifies mechanic and Program Manager of needed van repairs.
- Make recommendations and assists with the administration of sustenance for eligible residents
- Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events
- Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a High School diploma with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in homelessness and/or the addictions field
- Must have good communication, supervisory, computer, and organization skills
- Must be able to multi-task and make sound judgments in a fair and compassionate manner
- Must have good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and all levels of residents, employees, volunteers and guests
- Must be able to understand, speak, read and write English and carry out oral and written instructions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
- Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties, and be flexible to travel between Centers as needed
