We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to join our Fort Myers office. This role supports attorneys in a busy workers’ compensation defense attorney and requires a detail-oriented professional who understands the procedural, medical, and administrative components unique to workers’ compensation litigation in Florida.

Job Details



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume workers’ compensation caseload from inception through resolution
  • Draft, prepare, and e-file pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery specific to workers’ compensation matters
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, IMEs, and conferences
  • Maintain communication with insurance adjusters, nurse case managers, medical providers, and opposing counsel
  • Obtain, review, and organize medical records and billing records
  • Prepare hearing and mediation notebooks and assist attorneys with case strategy and preparation
  • Monitor deadlines and maintain accurate case calendars
  • Assist with settlement documentation and closing files
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of Florida workers’ compensation paralegal experience (defense experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Florida workers’ compensation procedures, terminology, and deadlines
  • Experience working directly with insurance carriers and adjusters
  • Proficiency in e-filing through the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH) and OJCC systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
  • Paralegal certificate or Florida Registered Paralegal designation preferred but not required
