Job Description:
This Structural Design Engineer role focuses on the structural design and coordination of metal building systems from concept through completion. The engineer will support multiple active projects while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners. Daily work includes applying industry codes, reviewing drawings, and ensuring designs meet both customer and compliance requirements. This position offers exposure to varied projects and long-term professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop metal building designs using established engineering practices, applicable codes, and internal standards
- Review drawings and project documents for accuracy, constructability, and compliance
- Partner with sales, estimating, drafting, and project teams to clarify scope and technical requirements
- Communicate design intent clearly through written documentation and verbal discussions
- Support project execution beyond design, assisting through fabrication and completion as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Five or more years of experience in building or structural design with a strong emphasis on steel structures
- Working knowledge of AISC, AISI, ASCE 7, and model building codes
- Experience with design software such as MBS and RISA preferred
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings
