Litigation Paralegal – Trusts & Estates

Position Summary:
The Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling probate, trust, guardianship, and fiduciary litigation matters. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment. The paralegal will assist with case management, discovery, drafting legal documents, and client communication, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of trust, estate, and probate litigation.

  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence.

  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and court filings (electronic and traditional).

  • Organize, maintain, and summarize case files, evidence, and discovery materials.

  • Conduct legal research and compile case law or statutory references as needed.

  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, beneficiaries, experts, and opposing counsel.

  • Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, and witness files for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.

  • Support attorneys with trial preparation and attend hearings/trials as required.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive estate and family matters.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience; prior experience in trusts & estates, probate, or fiduciary litigation strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.

  • Proficiency with legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and e-filing systems.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
