Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Senior CAM Programmer to develop and maintain CNC programs for multi-function equipment. This role supports day-to-day production, improves program reliability, and works closely with the shop to keep throughput and quality on track.
Primary Duties
- Create, refine, and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis turning/milling centers using a SolidWorks-based CAM workflow (CAMWorks preferred).
- Perform independent simulation/verification in external software to confirm motion, clearances, and process integrity prior to release.
- Select tooling and establish cutting parameters (feeds/speeds) for a range of production metals including aluminum, copper, stainless, titanium, and cold rolled steel.
- Develop and communicate workholding/fixture concepts to support safe, repeatable machining.
- Partner with shop personnel to troubleshoot issues, apply program updates, and improve run consistency, cycle time, and tool utilization.
- Support consistent methods through tool libraries, program structure, and documentation.
Required Background
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a production or job shop environment. Preferred Background
- Advanced experience with SolidWorks-integrated CAM (CAMWorks strongly preferred).
- Hands-on programming support for multi-axis mills and CNC lathes, including mill/turn or similar multi-tasking platforms.
