We are seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and able to provide comprehensive support to our attorneys in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters. You will assist with case preparation, client communication, and daily operations essential to the success of our bankruptcy department.
Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and related filings (Ch. 7 & Ch. 13)

Conduct legal research and gather financial documentation to support filings

Communicate with clients to obtain required documents, provide case updates, and guide them through the bankruptcy process

Correspond with trustees, court personnel, opposing counsel, and creditors

Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with federal and local bankruptcy rules

Assist attorneys with hearing preparation, 341 meeting coordination, and follow-up on trustee requests

Maintain and update client files in case-management systems

Assist with general office tasks and legal administrative support as needed
Qualifications (REQUIRED):

Bankruptcy paralegal experience (Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 13) — REQUIRED

Bilingual — English & Spanish — REQUIRED

Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures and legal terminology

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn legal software quickly

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable handling confidential information

Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills

Tech-savvy and adaptable to new systems and processes
