What This Opportunity Is…

As a Visual Merchandising Project Associate, the primary function of this position is to execute showroom optimizations and remerchandising projects. Visual Merchandising Project Associate will work as part of a project team to implement floor display layout changes and product moves based on Merchandising and Visual direction, leaving all showrooms looking exceptional and set to our high company standards. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Merchandising department at CITY Furniture.

Reports To: Visual Merchandising Project Manager

Location: On-site/ various showrooms & warehouses

Department/Sub-Department: Merchandising/ Visual

Estimated pay range: $19-$21

What You’ll Do*…

As a Visual Merchandising Project Associate, your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Merchandising – Executes the merchandising of showroom projects and new showroom openings, including proper installation of all product categories to include rugs, lamps, chandeliers, power motion and electronics. Helps receive, open & place inventory RFID tags on home accent products. Reviews displays for optimal set-up including layout, signage, accents, cleanliness, and lighting. Responsible for hanging, wiring and removing chandeliers for display in showroom. (60%)
  • Safety – Ensures all product in the showroom is setup in safe manner for all Guests and Associates. Ensures safety standards are adhered to when setting product on the floor. Checks product, including rugs, motion upholstery, and umbrellas, for functionality & potential safety hazards and corrects when necessary. Always maintains good safety practices when physically moving, hanging and setting up product in showrooms. (20%)
  • Maintenance – Responsible for the cleanliness of the warehouse area during showroom projects, including but not limited to sweeping, sorting recyclable product packaging, properly storing supplies and inventory and keeping areas neat, clean, and organized. Helps protect and maintain project team tools & equipment and ensures appropriate stock of supplies is present to successfully complete projects. Facilitates light construction during remodels to include drywall work & painting. (10%)

Additional duties and responsibilities as a Visual Merchandising Project Associate:

  • Team Involvement – Collaborates and works well with Associates to ensure the success of the organization. Works with showroom management to accomplish objectives. Helps Associates or Guests with product pulls or installation questions as needed to help provide World Class Service (10%).
  • Adheres to all assigned Standard Work and Role and Responsibilities for your role.

What’s Required…

  • Education & Work Experience:
    • High school diploma from an accredited institution preferred.
    • 1 (one) year of operations and/or maintenance experience within this type of environment
    • Basic hand tool proficiency required (i.e. screw driver, pliers, Allen wrench, hammer, drill)
    • Basic wiring experience preferred
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • Flexible availability is required based on business needs, including working various weekdays and limited weekend hours.
    • 40-hour work week, generally 10-hour shifts, four days per week in a retail furniture showroom/ warehouse environment
    • Requires daily travel to showrooms, including showroom openings and occasional overnight stays.
    • 100% of Travel
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to consistently perform heavy lifting in excess of 75 lbs.
    • Ability to bend, push, pull and be on feet for long periods of time.
    • Working at high heights - carry and be on the highest step of a 15ft ladder
    • Moderate knowledge of and ability to use tools is required.
    • Required to operate company vehicles in a safe manner and properly represent CITY Furniture.
  • Technology Requirements:
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)
    • Google Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
    • General PC
    • Apple iPad
  • Certifications / Licenses
    • Valid Driver’s License required
