Job Summary:

Do you have the skills, passion, and leadership to take charge of a professional bakery operation?
Are you ready to lead daily bread and pastry production while supporting an Executive Pastry Chef in a dynamic, high-quality environment?


We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head Baker to oversee the bakery team and ensure consistent, high-standard output. In this key role, you’ll serve as the right hand to our Executive Pastry Chef taking ownership of bread production, team coordination, and day-to-day bakery operations.

Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Strong knowledge of breads, breakfast pastries, and bakery equipment.
  • Hands-on experience in baking, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
  • Understands food safety, sanitation, and how to maintain a clean, organized bakery.
  • Can follow, adjust, or create recipes as needed.
  • Uses senses (sight, smell, taste, touch) to check product quality.
  • Ensures freshness by following FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Plans and creates appealing bakery displays.
  • Over 2 years' experience as Head Baker, leading teams and managing production with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains baking tools and equipment.
  • Works with all ingredients safely and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Non-slip shoes are required for safety (not provided).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and move on your feet for long periods
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 30 lbs
  • Comfortable working in hot, humid, and noisy bakery environments.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements such as mixing, kneading, and shaping dough.
  • Safe handling of sharp tools, hot ovens, and bakery equipment is essential.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and maintain focus under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Must be physically capable of managing production demands during peak hours and busy shifts.
  • Stamina to work overnight shifts consistently.
  • Must be able to work around common allergens such as wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and soy.
