Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Control Systems

  • Develop complete electrical design packages: schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, wire lists, and other documentation using tools such as WSCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or EPLAN.
  • Design scalable, field-serviceable systems per UL508A, NEC, and other standards.
  • Periodically troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during installations or maintenance both on-site and remotely.
  • Integrate sensors, relay logic, and power distribution systems into new or existing hardware.

System Hardware Design & Testing

  • Design, build, and test prototypes, control panels, enclosures, plumbing, and other mechanical hardware.
  • Make informed, first-principles-based decisions across multiple systems and products, bridging the gap between hardware and software design.
  • Perform functional testing, I/O verification, and component validation.
  • Prepare technical documentation for both internal and customer use.

Embedded Systems & Software

  • Develop utilities and tools using Python, Bash, C/C++.
  • Build and manage embedded Linux environments for industrial applications.
  • Configure bootloaders, daemons, and network settings (static IPs, firewalls, SSH).
  • Use Git for version control and workflow management.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in electrical design tools (WSCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or EPLAN).
  • Experience with industrial sensors, PLCs, and Modbus communication (RTU/TCP).
  • Comfortable with Linux CLI tools and Docker deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, prototyping, and panel assembly.
  • Mechanical, plumbing, and other hardware design experience is a plus.
