Are you ready to put your hands-on skills to work in a dynamic environment? As a Maintenance Mechanic, Class C, you’ll be a crucial part of our team, keeping our facility and equipment in excellent working condition. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll handle essential maintenance tasks and support higher-level technicians on complex repairs. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their mechanical skills and make an impact on our facility's day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform general facility maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, checking fluid levels, and observing devices for potential issues.
  • Use hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, etc.) and power tools (drills, saws) for basic maintenance tasks.
  • Assist Class A or B technicians with equipment repairs and learn through hands-on experience.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting: dismantle equipment to remove and replace defective parts, test machines, and ensure proper operation after repair.
  • Monitor safety concerns and maintain a safe work environment by identifying issues like missing guards or damaged cables.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment as needed.
  • Perform monthly testing on emergency devices, such as lights, AEDs, and PIV valves, to ensure functionality.

Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Experience: Familiarity with hand and power tools; prior electrical or plumbing experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Forklift driving and electrical troubleshooting (DVM & amp probe experience preferred).
  • Physical Requirements: Able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods; must lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Safety Focused: Committed to working safely and identifying potential hazards.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge to complete daily reports and parts ordering.
  • Availability: Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Educational & Tool Requirements:

  • High school diploma and a mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Personal tool set, including Allen wrenches (inch/metric), screwdrivers, utility knife, vise grips, pliers, tape measure, channel locks, adjustable wrench, plastic/ball peen hammers.
  • Reliable transportation.
