Summary of Position Mission

Responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process and final production parts to drawing specifications. They will be responsible for inspecting finished firearms from outside vendors and in-house to company standards. They will also be responsible for cross training to help where the Quality needs are for, that time.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and document findings for incoming, In-process and final inspection parts.
  • Inspect firearms manufactured, assembled, or repaired in the manufacturing area or by outside vendors.
  • Identifies and documents any mistakes or problems associated with the items being inspected.
  • Maintains accurate records of all items inspected.
  • Submits reports to the Quality Manager regarding quality and items inspected.
  • Utilizes basic test equipment such as calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, CMM, Keyence, Rockwell Testers,
  • Progressively improves upon and maintains acceptable inspection numbers in accordance with Company standards.
  • Always stays on task with assigned duties.
  • Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times.
  • Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
  • Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor
  • Maintain respect, courtesy, a positive attitude and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.
  • Other duties will be assigned, as required.

Qualifications & Knowledge Required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Proficient with standard measurement tools, height stands, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
  • Keyence, CMM calypso/zeiss (preferred)
  • Understanding and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
  • Experience in reading Engineer drawings.
  • Interact effectively with a variety of people.
  • General mechanical ability is required.
  • Possess sound problem-solving skills to help facilitate solutions to problems identified during the inspection process.
  • Proficient in using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of Trigonometry and Mathematics
  • Able to do a full layout of dimensional features.
  • Experience with ERP system use, preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions and prioritize accordingly.
