We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sewing Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in operating various types of industrial sewing machines and producing high-quality textile products. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to meet production deadlines, and expertise in working with different fabrics and sewing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sewing Operations:

   • Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
   • Perform precise sewing tasks, including hemming, stitching, and overlocking, with a focus on quality and consistency.

2. Fabric Handling:

   • Handle and work with various fabric types, including delicate, heavy, or specialty textiles.
   • Inspect fabrics for defects prior to sewing and take corrective actions if necessary.

3. Quality Control:

   • Ensure that finished products meet established quality standards.
   • Identify and resolve any sewing errors or inconsistencies in a timely manner.

4. Machine Maintenance:

   • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sewing machines.
   • Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team for prompt repair.

5. Production Efficiency:

   • Meet production targets and timelines while maintaining high-quality output.
   • Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce material waste.

6. Team Collaboration:

   • Work collaboratively with designers, cutters, and other team members to complete orders accurately.
   • Provide mentorship and training to junior sewing staff as needed.

7. Technical Expertise:

   • Stay updated on the latest sewing techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
   • Utilize specialized sewing methods for custom or complex projects.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sewing Machine Operator, preferably in a high-volume or specialty manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating various sewing machines, including single-needle, double-needle, overlock, and coverstitch.
  • Strong knowledge of sewing techniques and garment construction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• Other Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret sewing patterns and technical specifications.
  • Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and long periods of sitting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with computerized sewing machines or embroidery equipment.
• Background in custom tailoring or specialty textile manufacturing.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and compliance standards.
