The CAD Operator/Systems Designer partners with the Operations Manager in support of the service and install departments for Fort Myers, Coral Springs, Key West, Tampa and Orlando. This position shall provide technical support in the form of Cad drawings, engineering and design support. The CAD Operator/Systems Designer reports directly to the Engineering Manager. This position will also work with Sales, Service and Installation personnel as directed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
For this position responsibilities will include engineering and drafting of systems including security, video surveillance, fire alarm, sound / paging, access controls, structured cabling, and other offerings that may be added in the future. Installation level point to point drawings, submittal packages and “as-built” record drawings will be a direct responsibility of this role. Reading and interpreting specifications, as well as implementing them using IFSS products and practices will be required in this position. In this role, you will be expected to be at work Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and expected to have reliable transportation. Onsite and offsite project meetings with our installation team will be required. In this role you will be responsible for taking field information and accurately depicting it on IFSS record documents.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Be able to develop detailed fire alarm system design documentation, including system specifications, schematics, and installation plans, adhering to industry standards and regulatory / code requirements.
- Have a working knowledge of NFPA72 & 101
- Have experience in all aspects of the Fire Alarm industry
- Be able to communicate technical concepts to sales reps, operations team, and customers.
- Be able to design and layout of Fire Alarm systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
- Be able to lay out Access Control systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
- Have or be willing to obtain their FASA / BASA License, Nicet I / II or accumulated experience
- Have at least 3+ years’ experience with Fire Alarms systems layout per NFPA 72 & 101.
- Be proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or newer.
Compensation:
- $26.00 - $32.00 hr. based on experience
