Job Description
Policy: Studio Instructor will report directly to the Studio Coordinator and be responsible for instructing studio classes as scheduled by Wycliffe for members and guests.
Responsibility: It is the responsibility of Studio Instructors to maintain a level of professionalism, follow protocols and commit to the upscale service established by Wycliffe Golf and Country Club.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach and promote Studio Classes and special events.
- Explain, demonstrate and teach proper techniques, as well as correct form.
- Provide modifications for challenging exercises when needed.
- Motivate members to achieve goals.
- To follow rules and regulations of the Club
- Maintain organized appearance of Studio facilities regarding the bikes, portable chairs, free weights, stability balls and other Studio props.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Aerobic, Pilates and Stretch Studio including sanitizing equipment.
- Communicate concerns to Spa and Fitness Director or Coordinator on duty.
- Any and all other functions as deemed appropriate or necessary by the Director of Spa and Fitness to ensure the overall quality of the products and service delivered to the members and guests.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge of all Studio Equipment and Props.
- Must be sensitive to member/guest aerobics/fitness needs and wellness related issues.
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge of the body.
- Must have knowledge to perform a variety of exercises, as well as refreshing formats and music on a regular basis.
- Must be able to communicate clearly while instructing class.
Physical Requirements
- Must present and maintain own example of physical fitness and wellness.
- Must be able to lift 10 lbs. overhead.
Education & Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of two years experience with customer service in a country club or service oriented environment.
- Proven interpersonal communication skills and customer service techniques.
- Ability to function as a team player and through coaching and counseling, bring out the best in his/her staff.
- Must have and maintain current CPR/AED.
- Must have and maintain certification from one or more of the nationally recognized fitness organizations - ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE, among others.
- Must have current certification for specialized studio and aqua programs.
