Job Summary:
Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited college or university
Experience:
2 years experience counseling children and families.
Knowledge and skills in: The Needs of children and families, identification of abused and neglected children and adults; child development, and individual and family functioning; working with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families; collaborating with other disciplines and services; skills in group dynamics and leading group discussions. As appropriate to assigned feeder pattern, knowledge and skills in: working with military families, gang prevention/bullying, substance abuse and parenting.
Training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Trauma-Informed Care preferred.
Medicaid knowledgeable
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Licensed or License Eligible in the State of Florida - Registered Intern, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
Supervision Exercised: Possible task supervision of student interns for internships and field placements.
Primary Job Functions:
CLINICAL PROFICENCIES
- Use the DSM V to render a Diagnostic Impression or a Diagnosis based on qualifications.
- Explain and defend the rendered diagnosis in the documentation created for treating the client.
- General familiarity with the use differential diagnosis to support diagnostic impression / diagnosis
- Create treatment plans with the client that addresses the causes and symptoms of the diagnosis as rendered. Using SMART goals
- Document services provided, reflecting the treatment plan objectives in session.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices used in the treatment of regularly diagnosed disorders
- SCOPE OF DUTIES
- Provide outpatient counseling services to individuals, children, couples, families.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 services to a minimum of 65-70 children/families, for a minimum of 5 sessions as per the Full-Service Schools contract.
- Maintain a caseload of 30-35 Tier 2 and Tier 3 clients that include both students and parents. Totaling 65-70 clients per fiscal year.
- Provide professional case consultation to professionals involved in client's case.
- Report progress to the school counselors twice a month.
- Obtain parent and referral source surveys for successfully completed clients.
- Attend staff meetings and one-on-one supervisions as scheduled.
- Participate in bi-weekly clinical supervision/Administrative supervision and frequent chart reviews.
- Maintain an electronic calendar of scheduled appointments
- Help provide and present a therapeutic topic for families at school Family Night events
- Conduct workshops and provide training to parents, teachers, and children.
- Facilitate groups and counseling within the community, school, and home.
- Follow all laws as they pertain to in school therapy.
- CASE MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS
- Act as in-field point-of-contact for staff, supervisors and agency partners.
- Refer clients to appropriate community resources and organizations using the FSS internal referral system.
- Attend West Side Family Resource Center staff meetings as scheduled by the United Way coordinator/DCPS Social-Worker.
- Attend Full Service Schools oversight committee meetings as requested
- Attend the neighborhood accountability board as requested.
- Sign in and out at all schools
- DOCUMENTATION STANDARDS
- Complete all required documentation in the SAMIS System per contract designation.
- Maintain on going caseload lists of referrals and results.
- Complete reports for United Way Unit Coordinator as requested.
- Maintain client charts in Well Sky ehr in accordance with Medicaid, Full Service Schools, and Council on Accreditation standards.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or designee.
Periodic Job Functions:
- Attend professional training.
- Provide testimony or documentation for court hearings regarding clinical observations (as requested)
- Complete trainings as required by agency
- Supervision Exercised: upon request by FSS Director and agreement of the staff.
