Physician Assistant – Vascular and General Surgery Practice (No Call)

Location: Fort Myers,FL

Practice Type: Physician-Owned Vascular and General Surgery Practice

A physician-owned vascular and general surgery practice in Southwest Florida is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team. This is a no-call position. Salary is competitive and based on surgical specialty experience.

Job Summary:

This role provides direct support to physicians in both vascular and general surgery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, independent, and committed to delivering excellent patient care in both office and hospital settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical assessments, obtain patient histories, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
  • Interpret diagnostic data and provide patient education.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on patient care matters.
  • Analyze clinical information and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Deliver direct care while maintaining thorough documentation in the patient’s health record.
  • Assist with physician schedules and patient flow to support practice efficiency.
  • Support and assist in surgical procedures.
  • Review and interpret diagnostic studies, consulting with physicians as needed.
  • Manage multiple priorities and remain available for direct patient care.
  • Perform AM weekend rounds approximately one day per month.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative teams in both office and hospital environments.
  • Evaluate, plan, and provide care in consultation with supervising physicians.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adapt to changes in the healthcare environment and practice operations.

Professional Development:

  • Identify personal learning needs and actively pursue ongoing professional growth.
  • Attend meetings and continuing education to maintain and expand clinical knowledge.
  • Maintain current certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Baccalaureate Degree required.
  • Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.
  • Must have or obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) prior to employment start.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Prior experience in vascular and/or general surgery.
