JOB OVERVIEW

The Test Cell Facility Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all systems that support the operation of aircraft engine test cells. This includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems, as well as facility infrastructure. The role ensures maximum uptime, reliability, and safety of the test cell environment to support production and engineering testing schedules. May require occasional shift work, weekends, or overtime to support critical testing schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
    1. Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance on test cell systems, including fuel supply, cooling water, air handling, exhaust systems, and control instrumentation.
    2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
    3. Maintain, calibrate, and verify functionality of critical systems such as instrumentation, sensors, and safety interlocks.
  • Facility & Equipment
    1. Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance on test cell systems, including fuel supply, cooling water, air handling, exhaust systems, and control instrumentation.
    2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
    3. Maintain, calibrate, and verify functionality of critical systems such as instrumentation, sensors, and safety interlocks.
  • Safety & Compliance
    1. Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance on test cell systems, including fuel supply, cooling water, air handling, exhaust systems, and control instrumentation.

  • Continuous Improvement & Reliability
    1. Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance on test cell systems, including fuel supply, cooling water, air handling, exhaust systems, and control instrumentation.
    2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
    3. Maintain, calibrate, and verify functionality of critical systems such as instrumentation, sensors, and safety interlocks.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance, test cell operations, or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Proficiency with test equipment, calibration tools, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with aircraft engine test cells, aerospace facilities, or high-performance industrial test environments.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • FAA A&P license or equivalent technical certification.

Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
