Mobile Staff Solutions is looking for an experience Manual Machinist (NOT CNC) for our client in Lakeland, FL.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position performs the machining requirements of the shop as well as having both assembly/disassembly responsibility on larger repairs and projects. This position also includes willingly supporting other employees in areas such as fabrication, welding, repair, and field service.
MUST HAVES / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
- Proven experience as machinist (working manual lathes both vertical & horizontal, mills etc.)
- Ability to use precision tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Able to perform basic math with analytical abilities
- Experience with Industrial pump repair
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Be able to comprehend shop drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals, for assembly of equipment
- Select appropriate machines (lathe, mill, etc.) and position or load material for a job
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
- Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
- Operating saws, grinders, and power tools
- Mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities are necessary
