Lead Superintendent – Healthcare Construction


Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Superintendent to manage the civil/sitework and commercial aspects of a major healthcare construction project in Southeast Florida. This is a full-time, on-site role in Tampa, supporting a long-term, high-profile project. You’ll be responsible for jobsite operations including safety, scheduling, budget, quality control, and client satisfaction. Relocation assistance is available.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and timely progress
  • Review and understand project plans and contract documents to proactively anticipate and resolve issues
  • Coordinate permits, logistics, and jobsite planning
  • Create, manage, and update the project schedule, including contingency plans as needed
  • Lead jobsite meetings with contractors and the project team
  • Enforce safety compliance and quality control standards on-site
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including owners and field staff
  • Keep accurate daily reports and documentation using software tools (Procore, etc.)
  • Mentor and train Field Engineers and Superintendents, supporting their development
  • Support and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–12 years of experience managing large commercial projects ($30M+; healthcare preferred)
  • OSHA 30 certification required; STS-C, AHCA experience, and first aid/CPR/AED training preferred
  • Strong leadership in running entire projects or major components
  • Solid understanding of all construction phases, trades, and materials


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction software (Procore, Primavera, CMIC)
  • Experience enforcing safety plans and coordinating jurisdictional requirements
  • Ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams
