POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to assist and coordinate the implementation of Core Measure protocols, Nursing P.I. and data collection processes. Will educate nursing staff and medical personnel to achieve quality initiatives. The Stroke Program Coordinator will work with the nursing staff, managers and directors of all ancillary departments in establishing and implementing and monitoring hospital wide protocols/processes for the purpose of developing standardized structure and quality assurance. Will be responsible for reporting all Nursing PI to Quality Council and other hospital committees. Will serve as a resource and educator for the nursing staff, including other ancillary departments.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

  • Current Florida RN License
  • BSN preferred
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Certification in Stroke Education
  • Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) preferred
  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience, Neuro ICU preferred
  • Demonstrates the ability to teach the adult learner at all levels
