Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Service Technician to provide telephone (virtual) technical service to the sales and service team, as well as customers. This position will primarily focus on providing technical support related to various aspects of the commercial laundry business. Comprehensive training will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial laundry equipment (both On-Premise Laundry & Vended)
  • Install replacement parts as required
  • Accurately document all service activities, including time and materials used
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair work to ensure satisfaction
  • Collaborate with service managers, parts department, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely work
  • Maintain service tools, equipment, and the company-supplied service vehicle
  • Assist installation crews with equipment installations and deliveries
  • Undertake other tasks as needed to ensure efficient department operations

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least 1+ years of mechanical repair experience, with laundry equipment experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
  • Working knowledge of electrical testing tools and/or other diagnostic/programming tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (preferred)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, as well as schematics
  • Proficiency with multi-meters and other diagnostic tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to self-manage workload and multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to navigate change and ambiguity with confidence
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, and proactive attitude

Standard and Physical Requirements:

  • The position involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, and manual dexterity
  • Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs frequently; assistive devices will be provided for heavier items
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean Motor Vehicle Record

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Salary: $20 - $30 per hour (Negotiable based on experience)
