Job Title: Director of Pool Construction
Summary:
A leading construction firm in the Fort Lauderdale area is seeking an experienced Director of Pool Construction to oversee high-end commercial and residential pool projects. This leadership role requires deep industry expertise, knowledge of Florida building codes, and strong crew and project management capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple job sites at various stages, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to regulations, and excellence in execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of commercial and luxury residential pool construction projects from inception to completion.
- Schedule and manage construction crews across multiple concurrent projects.
- Ensure compliance with Florida pool building codes and Department of Health regulations.
- Collaborate with general contractors to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and meet deadlines.
- Utilize construction management software (e.g., BuilderTrend) to track project progress, allocate resources, and communicate updates.
- Conduct on-site visits to monitor quality, enforce safety standards, and support crew productivity.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce delays, and improve project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in commercial pool construction with comprehensive knowledge of the entire build process.
- Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of Florida pool construction codes and health inspection standards.
- Blueprint Literacy: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction plans.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Project Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with BuilderTrend or comparable construction management platforms.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
