Beth El Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Preschool Teacher to support our Lead Teacher in creating a joyful, safe, and developmentally rich experience for young children
Role Overview
As an Assistant Preschool Teacher, you will support classroom instruction, daily routines, and the social-emotional growth of young children in a collaborative, values-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
- Support daily care routines including feeding, napping, diapering/toileting, and hygiene.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Observe and support children’s developmental milestones.
- Encourage positive behavior, independence, and self-confidence.
- Communicate effectively with families and team members.
Essential Physical Functions
These physical requirements are considered essential functions of the position.
- Ability to lift, carry, and support up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, and sitting on the floor to engage with children at their level.
- Active participation in indoor and outdoor classroom activities.

Requirements:
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children.
- Completion of Introductory Childcare Training (45 hours) or willingness to obtain.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must meet all applicable state and local licensing requirements.
Skills and Attributes
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Flexibility, creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Familiarity with Jewish culture and traditions is a plus.
Background Screening and Compliance
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug test and Level II background screening.
