Title: Engineering/Advanced Manufacturing Technology Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher

Reports to: Campus Director

Position type: 12 month position (Exempt )

Position Summary

The CTE Instructor will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in Engineering, Robotics, and Advanced Manufacturing Technology, preparing students for successful careers and further education. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, CAPE Certification preparation as well as fostering a hands-on learning environment that emphasizes real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support NBHS by attending community service and outreach activities.

  • Monitor adherence to school policies and procedures before, during and after school.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Assist with recruitment, marketing, and retention of students.

  • Attend school related functions and meetings.

  • Ensure that all visitors are following NBHS safety guidelines and reinforce social distancing.

  • Complete reports (as requested).

  • Support school Mission by assisting with home visits.

  • Implement lesson plans in the assigned Innovation area.

  • Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles.

  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and development.

  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum aligns with current industry standards and practices.

  • Participate in and assist with the coordination of an advisory council specific to the program.

  • Organize and oversee hands-on projects and activities that enhance practical skills.

  • Conduct annual review and propose appropriate updates to the Innovation Reference & Procedures Manual.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or

  • A minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in mechanical engineering, including mechanical engineering design, or mechanical engineering technical drafting or blueprinting or

  • A minimum of four (4) years of full-time occupational experience or the equivalent in part-time experience in the occupational field of the teaching assignment in combination with postsecondary education or training (with a strong emphasis on mathematics)

  • Possess a CTE Certification or have the ability to earn a CTE certification in the appropriate field. Assistance in any additional required training will be provided pending on qualifications.

  • Knowledge of basic software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Pages)

  • Background check and fingerprinting clearance

  • Possess or have the ability to earn a Certification in AutoCAD/ SolidWorks, RECF, or equivalent CAPE Funded Approved Certification. CAD/CAM experience preferred.

  • Possess or have the ability to earn OSHA Certification.

  • Experience teaching engineering, robotics, as well as manufacturing is preferred.

Periodically checks emails and phone messages after hours and on the weekend. Urgent work-related email and phone messages should be answered after 1-2 hours of receipt.


Working Conditions

Environment

Requires working indoors and outdoors. Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing. This position may require travel.

Physical Requirements

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and ability to lift, carry, move, and/or position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
