About the Role
The Swiss CNC Programmer will create, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes. This individual will support new product introduction, improve machining efficiency, and ensure high accuracy across production runs. Medical device experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Program Swiss CNC machines using CAM software or machine-side programming methods.
- Develop efficient toolpaths to reduce cycle time and improve part quality.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Collaborate with machinists to validate setups, prove out programs, and resolve issues.
- Support prototyping and production of complex geometries and multi-op components.
- Improve and standardize programming and documentation practices.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and operations to support process improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience programming Swiss CNC machines such as Citizen, Star, or Tsugami.
- Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, tooling, and machine kinematics.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD and T.
- Experience using CAM software such as PartMaker, Esprit, or Mastercam.
- Knowledge of machining strategies for tight-tolerance components.
- Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other precision industries is beneficial but not required.
