Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in the Operating Room (OR) to provide exceptional surgical care in a fast-paced hospital environment. This contract position requires a highly motivated professional experienced in a variety of surgical specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, and Urology. The nurse will be an integral part of the surgical team, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with at least 2 years of experience in OR nursing
- Strong skills in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, and Urology cases
- Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; CNOR certification preferred
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system
- Ability to float between different surgical campuses as needed
- Demonstrated critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership abilities in surgical settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all supplies and equipment are available and sterilized
- Assist surgeons by scrubbing in during procedures and anticipating needs throughout surgeries
- Maintain effective communication with surgical teams and patient families
- Update and manage physician preference cards for surgical cases
- Supervise other personnel involved in patient care within the operating room
