Quality Inspector

Pay: $22–$25 per hour (based on experience)
Status: Needed ASAP

We have partnered with a well-established fabrication company that is looking for a Quality professional to join their team. This is a customer-facing role, so strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for inspecting parts throughout the manufacturing process and ensuring quality standards are met. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and management to address quality concerns, provide updates, and help drive continuous improvement.

You must be comfortable speaking directly with customers, explaining inspection results, resolving complaints, and reviewing part prints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming, in-process (WIP), and outgoing parts

  • Perform First Article and First Piece inspections

  • Prepare and maintain accurate quality inspection reports

  • Document inspection results, corrective actions, and preventive actions

  • Communicate quality status and issues clearly to customers and internal teams

  • Analyze quality trends and identify improvement opportunities

  • Create charts, graphs, photos, and reports to explain quality findings

  • Track and manage Quality KPIs to support continuous improvement

  • Measure Total Cost of Quality (TCQ) and help reduce quality-related costs

  • Support corrective action efforts using root cause analysis methods

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills (Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, 8D)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Able to adapt to changing production needs

  • Hands-on, results-driven mindset

Requirements

  • Experience working with ISO 9000 / AS9100 quality systems

  • Knowledge of core quality tools such as:

    • First Article Inspection

    • First Piece Inspection

    • PPAP

    • Quality Manuals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in manufacturing or industrial environments

  • Experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Leadership

  • Experience in high-volume metal fabrication is a plus
