This is a customer-facing role. The right candidate needs to be able to communicate directly with customers, problem-solve complaints, articulate status to customers and interpret part prints and specifications.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Inspect WIP, inbound and outbound parts. Prepare First Article Reports
Prepare detailed, accurate reports of all Quality Control inspections, results, corrective actions, recommended preventive actions, trends analyses, and compliance to contract requirements.
Utilize effective technical narrative, graphs, charts, spreadsheets, photographs and other means to effectively convey the QC results to management.
Establish Quality KPI’s with the goal of continuous improvement in all aspects. Create and manage reports to track internal and external KPI’s.
Lead measurement of TCQ (Total Cost of Quality) and identify opportunities to reduce TCQ.
Qualifications:
Skills and Key Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong clerical skills. Ability to track multiple tasks and document critical information.
- Detail oriented and capable of driving timely resolution to issues.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and significant experience in driving corrective action (e.g. 5 why, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Capability to adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing production requirements.
- Hands-on and results driven.
Requirements:
- Experience in ISO-9000 with AS9100 systems.
- Working knowledge of core quality tools (First Article/First Piece inspection, PPAP, Quality Manual).
Desired:
- BS in Engineering or industrial/manufacturing related field preferred
- Significant time in Quality Engineering or Quality Leadership role.
- Experience in high volume metal fabrication manufacturing operation a plus.
Needed ASAP $22-$25 an hour based on Experience.
