Industrial Painter**
Job Summary
Perform a normal range of metal preparation, mask, prime and finish painting operations on a wide variety of parts, weldments, subassemblies and assembled company products.
Responsibilities

• Move parts, subassemblies or completed machines in and out of spray booth or cleaning station using hoist, overhead bridge crane or powered lift truck, as appropriate.
• Set up painting equipment, adjust spray guns, clean, as required. Fill paint tanks, add thinner and clean, sand tape and mask, all parts or completed machines for small blast and paint in accordance with established procedures.
• Spray paint prime and finish coat as required. Apply prescribed protective coating as specified. Perform touch-up painting and cleaning in accordance with Inspection report. Apply decals or stencil in accordance with requirements.
• Detect and report faulty operation, defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies and other unusual conditions and report to proper Supervisor. Produce work within acceptable quality and quantity standards.
• Maintain work area in neat and orderly condition. Record time and production into the data collection system, using bar code reader or computer terminal. Perform other similar or related duties as assigned in accordance with workload priorities.
• Receive direction from supervision. Work from instructions and established procedures and specifications.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Basic Qualifications
(Requirement, education (if required), years of experience, language, drivers license, etc)

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 6 months of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Equipment consists of paint spraying units, paint booths, paint brushes, sanders, grinders, powered lift trucks, man lift, scrapers, hand and powered wire brushes, small sand blast unit, masking tape and paper, cleaning solvents, grease, oil, steel wool, paint, paint thinner and a variety of other miscellaneous hand tools and materials pertinent to cleaning and painting.
• Must be able to communicate either verbally or in writing. Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
• Must be able to calculate liquid and powder measurements for proper mixing of paint, primer, cleaning solutions, etc.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
