The LIFT (Leasing, Investments, Finance & Trading) group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Director of Technical Asset Management to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of Technical Asset Management, the ideal candidate should be a team player, self-motivated, and highly reliable at handling a large volume of portfolio activity. They should have the ability to work both independently and collaborate as a team.
The Senior Director of Technical Asset Managementis a senior technical leader responsible for overseeing the technical integrity of the company’s aircraft and engine portfolio, with a particular focus on technical due diligence for trading activity. This office-based role collaborates closely with commercial and legal teams to enable efficient, value-driven trading and asset oversight.
Responsibilities:
Trading Support & Technical Due Diligence
- Lead technical due diligence for aircraft and engine acquisitions, sales, and portfolio trades.
- Support pricing and decision-making with accurate technical insight and risk assessment.
- Provide real-time input on asset condition, documentation gaps, and technical risk.
- Review aircraft inspection reports, status summaries, and maintenance histories to support deal structuring and execution.
- Assist in developing budgets for maintenance and capital expenditures.
Project Oversight
- Manage internal and external technical representatives during sales, placements, and redeliveries.
- Maintain project trackers and ensure technical milestones are met to align with deal closing dates.
Contractual Technical Support
- Provide technical input for LOIs, leases, and sale and purchase agreements.
- Define and negotiate technical language around delivery conditions, return conditions, and maintenance covenants.
- Support redelivery planning, early termination scenarios, and mid-lease modifications.
Technical Records
- Coordinate with the Technical Records team (not as a direct report) to ensure completeness and compliance with return conditions
- Make informed decisions on which items are acceptable, need resolution, or pose execution risk.
Process & System Ownership
- Help refine technical templates, project trackers, inspection forms, and open item close-out processes.
- Participate in post-mortem reviews to identify bottlenecks or recurring issues in transition and trading support.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in aircraft leasing, technical asset management, or MRO/engineering with significant exposure to documentation and transaction support.
- A&P License is a plus.
- Deep understanding of FAA/EASA requirements, lease structures, and aircraft maintenance programs.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to assess risk and opportunity from a technical lens.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and cross-functional workflows.
