Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ecologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and a passion for ecological restoration. This role involves conducting research, collecting data, and analyzing ecological systems to support conservation efforts and sustainable practices. The Ecologist will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental laws and promote best practices in protected species assessment and land management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field studies to assess ecological conditions and identify protected species.
- Collect and analyze data related to ecosystems, species populations, and environmental impacts.
- Utilize GIS and ArcGIS software for mapping and spatial analysis of ecological data.
- Collaborate with government agencies to ensure permit approvals and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
Experience
- Proficiency in GIS, ArcGIS, GPS technology, and data analysis tools.
- Strong background in natural resources, environmental assessments, water quality monitoring, environmental permitting, arborist services, or related fields.
- Experience in ecological assessments and identifying protected species such as gopher tortoises, scrub jays, etc.
- Familiarity with environmental law as it pertains to conservation efforts.
- Proven ability to conduct research, collect data, and perform thorough analyses.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to diverse audiences.
