POSITION SUMMARY:

The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's scalable data infrastructure. This position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated data pipelines that integrate clinical, financial, and operational datasets to support seamless data flow. The role supports enterprise reporting, analytics, and performance tracking across the healthcare system. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in SQL, Excel, and workflow automation, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare data, financial metrics, and data validation processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Data Engineering & Pipeline Management

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines that integrate data from EMR systems, legacy databases, and financial data sources.
  • Automate ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows using tools such as KNIME and SQL.
  • Build and optimize backend data models to support clinical and financial reporting needs.

Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Develop advanced Excel models and Power BI datasets to support business operations and care management.
  • Support the integration of finance and operations metrics into enterprise dashboards.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of reporting tools to ensure the timely delivery of actionable insights to stakeholders.

Quality & Governance

  • Implement reusable logging, validation, and error-handling processes to improve data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data security standards.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and audit trails for data pipelines and reports.

Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable state and federal billing regulations.
  • Protect the confidentiality and integrity of all patients’ financial data.
  • Adhere to Pediatrica Health Group’s policies and procedures for ethical billing practices.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with analysts, clinicians, finance, and IT teams to identify reporting needs and streamline data processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance enterprise data access, reduce manual reporting, and drive decision-making efficiency.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare data structures (patients, claims, encounters, billing, quality metrics).
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in workflow automation tools (KNIME preferred).
  • Expertise in Excel, including Power Query, pivot tables, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud-based data environments.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a drive for process improvement.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Expert in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, reporting development, or business intelligence roles.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and payer reporting preferred.
  • Background in integrating financial and operational data for analytics and reporting.
