Job Summary: Heavy Equipment Rental Diesel Mechanic

Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a national wide heavy equipment rental company with multiple locations throughout Fort Myers and surrounding area. This position is based in Fort Myers.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Hydraulic Mechanic to join our heavy equipment rental team for a company in the Ft Myers area. This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered construction equipment with complex hydraulic systems, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use.

Key Responsibilities:

· Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and hydraulic systems on a wide range of heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, telehandlers).

· Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.

· Diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and lines.

· Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and technical manuals.

· Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems and perform repairs.

· Maintain service records and complete equipment inspection forms.

· Communicate clearly with supervisors and rental coordinators on repair timelines and equipment condition.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all company safety protocols and procedures.

· Occasionally perform field repairs at job sites or assist in equipment delivery/inspection.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

· 3+ years of experience as a diesel or hydraulic mechanic, preferably with heavy construction equipment.

· Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and general mechanical systems.

· Ability to operate equipment for testing and diagnostics.

· Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.

· Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).

· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.

Preferred Skills:

· Familiarity with brands such as CAT, Komatsu, Bobcat, JLG, John Deere, or similar.

· ASE or other industry certifications (a plus).

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Position Type: Full Time Temp to Perm

Benefits: Full benefit package

Pay: $24.00-$25.00

Schedule: 7am to 4:30pm
