The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking to a full-time Lead Instructor and Program Teacher for our Employment & Training Department. This is a year-round, in-person position based at the Miccosukee Employment and Training Center located on the Miccosukee Indian Reservation. The Lead Instructor and Program Teacher will support adult and youth education programs, provide academic instruction, coordinate training initiatives, and assist in college and career development activities for Miccosukee students.

Important Note:
This position requires full-time, on-site attendance at the Miccosukee Reservation. Remote work or telecommuting is not permitted at any time. The selected candidate must be consistently available at the Training Center during scheduled work hours, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
If the employee requests extended time off, there is no guarantee that the position will remain available upon return.

Job Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Teacher Certification preferred.
• Prior experience working with adolescents and young adults.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be dependable and available to work in person on a full-time basis at the Reservation — no exceptions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Instruct and tutor Adult Education and Higher Education students in core academic subjects such as math, reading, and language.
• Assist Higher Education students with coursework, assignments, and study support to promote academic success.
• Serve as the Summer Youth Program Coordinator/ Instructor, teaching and mentoring adolescents and young adults in school, job training, and career readiness activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and attend local and out-of-state college trips for high school students when needed.
• Teach professional and workplace skills to interns and high school students from the Miccosukee community.
• Develop and maintain a confidential filing system, ensuring all student and client records and contact information are accurate and up to date.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with departmental grants and program requirements.

Job Site: Miccosukee Indian Reservation located 20 miles west of Krome Avenue on SW 8th Street.
