Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist position is available starting August 2025 in Vero Beach, FL, serving students from PreK through 6th grade at an elementary school. This is a contract role for the 2025-2026 school year with a caseload of approximately 40 students, providing comprehensive support to enhance communication skills within a diverse school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments to determine eligibility for special education services and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver individual and group therapy tailored to meet goals outlined in IEPs for students with speech and language disorders.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to implement effective communication strategies across classroom and school settings.
- Participate actively in district-wide efforts to foster a positive school climate, cultural responsiveness, and social justice.
- Provide training and support to school staff on strategies to assist students with speech and language challenges.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida state licensure and ASHA certification of clinical competence (CCC-SLP).
- Strong understanding of contemporary theories, research, and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, demonstrating cultural competence.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
