Job Summary
The Repair Technician I performs multiple tasks that include EDM machine set-up and operation, inspection of parts using various instruments that assist in the evaluation of the conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and map parts sent to the center for repair.
- Perform rework on the parts using EDM or manual rework processes.
- Perform pencil blast of rework areas to return the surface to cast finish.
- Final inspection on parts to ensure the rework process was completed successfully.
- Support engineering by performing iterative testing and implementing changes along the way.
- Support NDE engineering with inspection and machining as directed.
- Perform hands-on inspections in certified methods and assist in all other NDE methods to learn and gain experience hours.
- Assist in training and supervising new technicians or apprentices in the use of borescope and other NDE techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience required, with a technical background.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
