Boarding Admissions Manager
Job Description
OVERVIEW
North Broward Preparatory School is seeking a Boarding Admissions Manager who
will assist with all aspects of the admission and recruitment process for our
residential program and has a strong interest in working in an independent day and
boarding school environment. This person will report directly to the Director of
Admissions and Marketing and join an admission team that currently consists of
seven staff members: 3 day admission officers, an Admissions Coordinator, a
Marketing Manager, a Communications Manager and a Director of Admissions and
Marketing. This is a full-time non-teaching faculty position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUITES
• Represent all facets of North Broward Preparatory School and articulate the
school’s mission and values to potential boarding applicants and their
families.
• Cultivate relationships with educational consultants, placement directors,
agents, Nord Anglia Education’s Global Recruitment Team and prospective
families to promote the value and outcomes of the North Broward Prep
experience and the importance of having a diverse student body.
• Conduct interviews with prospective students, meet with parents, write
interview summary reports and have follow-up communication with families.
• Strategically plan and execute recruitment travel to designated markets on an
annual basis. Represent North Broward Prep at fairs, road shows,
presentations and visits to sending organizations.
• Evaluate applications for admission and participate in the committee selection
process.
• Play an integral role in the planning and execution of all on-campus recruiting
and yield events such as fall Open Houses and spring Visit Days.
• Participate in the development, planning and implementation of North
Broward Prep’s residential marketing and yield efforts with an emphasis on
emerging trends relating to boarding student recruitment.
• Play an active role in the re-enrollment process of current boarding students,
collaborating with the Director of Residential Life.
• Serve as the DSO with SEVIS and work directly with families to issue I-20
documents for successful enrollment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Marketing related
to the admission and residential scholarship functions of the school.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of School possibly including residential
and athletic or co-curricular responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge of independent schools; at least 2-3 years of admission
experience (secondary or higher education) preferred.
• Strong sense of initiative to identify and engage new opportunities that move
the collective work of the admission office forward.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• High degree of comfort and experience with computer technology.
• An ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
• A comfort level to speak in front of a variety of audiences including large and
diverse groups.
• Strong sense of teamwork and enthusiasm for working with students.
• A good sense of humor and an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted
environment.
• Willing to travel up to four weeks a year to both domestic and international
locations.
• Willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
