About PSX

PSX is a national, privately owned parking and security systems integrator specializing in the installation, service, and support of parking revenue control systems (PARCS), gate operators, access control, and related low-voltage technologies.

We are seeking a mechanically inclined, hands-on Field Service Technician to join our Tampa team.

If you enjoy troubleshooting, working with tools, solving problems, and being in the field rather than behind a desk, this role may be an excellent fit.

About the Role

As a Parking & Access Systems Technician, you will:

  • Install, service, and repair automated gate operators, barrier arms, parking revenue systems, and access control equipment

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage issues using meters, tools, and system software

  • Perform preventive maintenance on motors, gears, sensors, control boards, and mechanical assemblies

  • Run and terminate low-voltage wiring (CAT5/6, 18/2, relays, sensors, vehicle loops)

  • Read and follow service manuals, training materials, and basic wiring diagrams

  • Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, and internal teams

  • Manage work orders, document findings, and track parts usage

  • Participate in an on-call rotation after training (typically every 4–6 weeks)

Who Thrives in This Role

We provide extensive training, but the strongest technicians often come from backgrounds such as:

  • HVAC, electrical, industrial maintenance, or automotive repair

  • Low-voltage installation (access control, alarms, CCTV, cabling)

  • Mechanical or electromechanical repair (motors, actuators, machinery)

  • Field service, facilities, or hands-on technical trades

If you enjoy diagnosing problems, using tools, and fixing equipment, you will excel here.

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with moving equipment

  • Basic electrical or low-voltage knowledge (12/24/120V, relays, sensors, wiring)

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools (drills, multimeters, grinders, saws)

  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to work independently after training

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Comfort working outdoors, in parking facilities, and in all weather conditions

  • Clear, professional communication

  • Dependable, safety-minded work ethic

No prior parking industry experience required — full training provided.

Why Join PSX

  • Family-owned company with strong culture and long-term employees

  • Paid training and clear technical growth path

  • Company vehicle, gas card, tools, laptop, and iPhone provided

  • Opportunities to advance into Access Control, Security Systems, or Senior Technician roles

  • Competitive pay with structured progression
