Chief Maintenance Engineer – Hotel Property - Gainesville, FL

We’re looking for a hands-on, take-charge Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance operations at a vibrant hospitality property. If you’re the kind of person who notices a flickering light before anyone else does—and fixes it before they blink—you’ll thrive here.
This isn’t just a wrench-turning gig. It’s about creating a safe, smooth, and high-functioning experience for guests and team members alike. You’ll be the go-to for everything from HVAC to hot water heaters, with a team behind you and the autonomy to make decisions that keep the property humming.
What You'll Own:
- Lead and mentor a small but mighty engineering/maintenance crew
- Run the show for preventive maintenance and emergency repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
- Get your hands dirty with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool systems, lighting, and carpentry work
- Troubleshoot like a champ: from AC that won’t chill to a sink that won’t drain
- Maintain a killer PM log and stay ahead of issues before they become “issues”
- Coordinate with outside vendors when needed (but you’ll probably fix it better anyway)
- Set and enforce safety standards that make OSHA proud
- Represent the brand with professionalism while interacting with guests and staff
You Bring:
- Solid experience in hotel, resort, or commercial maintenance leadership
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- A proactive mindset, not just a reactive one
- The ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- EPA certification, pool certification, or similar licenses? Even better.
