South Florida Occupational Therapy is a private-pay pediatric occupational therapy practice providing school-based and after-school home-based services in East Fort Lauderdale. South Florida Occupational Therapy is seeking a pediatric occupational therapist to join the practice as it thoughtfully expands services across established school partnerships.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established and thriving caseload across highly sought-after private schools, with the flexibility to build a schedule that aligns with your preferred work style. The incoming therapist will assume a central role in carrying a substantial caseload across these schools, supported by strong, long-standing school partnerships and a close, side-by-side collaboration with the practice owner.
This role is ideal for an OT who values autonomy, collaboration, and high-quality care within supportive school environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one occupational therapy services to pediatric clients
- Deliver OT services primarily in private school settings, with some after-school home-based sessions available.
- Serve children ages 2.5–12 years
- Collaborate with the practice owner, teachers, families, and school teams.
- Complete timely, accurate documentation for private-pay services
- Maintain professional standards and communication in school and home settings
- Builds warm, professional relationships with children, families, and private school staff
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Florida Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of pediatric OT experience (school-based experience preferred)
- Thrives in friendly, collaborative school environments with engaged teachers and families
- Values gentle, relationship-based care over productivity-driven models
- Comfortable working independently with consistent, collaborative support from the practice owner
Practice Setting
- Highly sought-after private schools in Fort Lauderdale
- Optional after-school home-based sessions, with flexibility in choosing preferred locations (ranging from downtown Fort Lauderdale to Pompano Beach)
- Established school partnerships and supportive school communities
Schedule & Flexibility
- Flexible scheduling based on therapist availability
- Opportunity to carry a substantial, consistent caseload
- Ability to structure full days or spread sessions across the week
Compensation
- Paid per 30-minute session
- Competitive private-pay rates, with opportunity for rate increases based on experience, consistency, and demonstrated commitment to the practice
- Contractor (1099) position
