Infection Prevention RN

Infection Preventionist directs interventions that protect patients from health-care associated infections (HAIs) in clinical and other settings.

The infection Preventionist works with clinicians and administrators to improve patient and system-level outcomes and reduce HAIs and related adverse events.

Technical Competencies include:

Develops infection control policies and disseminates current information and recommendations to appropriate agencies, communities, and individuals to support NBHD mission and meet CDC regulatory recommendations.

Assures departmental compliance with professional and regulatory standards, Responsible for monitoring compliance of all standards. Orients and evaluates staff. Functions as a role model, demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, technical skills and appropriate knowledge base. Maintains knowledge of standards in professional practice. Patient Safety includes:

Proactively assures safe practice, reports safety concerns and complies with all national and organizational patient safety and environment of care safety standards.

EPIC experience
