Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
Provide customer service with professionalism to support the patient flow of the O&P division of TOC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Greet patients and politely have them sign in
· Verify and enter all patient demographics and insurance information into the computer system including authorization and referral numbers
· Verify DME/Prosthetic prescription
· Verify if prescription needs authorization
· Schedule patient appointment with O&P providers
· Confirm appointments with patients and provide appropriate information regarding their appointment
· Answer phone calls and return voicemails each day
· Collect co-pays, co-insurance or deductibles from patients
· Collect on patient knee walker pre-payments
· Provide coverage for O&P authorization as needed
· Cross train and cover MRI department as needed
· Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as deemed appropriate.

· PC skills required with a typing speed of approximately 35 wpm and basic knowledge of HER
· The ability and flexibility to cover various shifts, as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may require sitting and/or standing for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and such other office equipment as necessary. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and work in an environment which can be very stressful.
CREDENTIALS DESIRED
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education and at least one year of prior work experience in a medical office or customer service setting.
Schedule is Monday - Friday, 5 hrs. (minimum) per day not to exceed 29 hours weekly.
