Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Internal Medicine. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring efficient medical administrative support, and assisting healthcare professionals in Providing exceptional service to patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs
- Assist with medication administration and ensure proper documentation
- Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems
- Conduct basic life support as needed and respond to emergencies
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with staff and patients
- Assist in coding diagnoses using ICD coding for billing purposes
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient facilities, DME's
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in Internal Medicine.
- Previous experience in outpatient clinics
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient information
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams
- Basic life support certification required; advanced certifications are a plus
