The Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations oversees the secure implementation and maintenance for the Virgin Hotel Collection’s IT infrastructure and Operations needs, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security. This role involves managing infrastructure assets, security protocols, security operations, and operational needs while also ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

This role will play an important part in guiding the deployment and oversight of technology for the business. In addition, they will assist in enhancing technology brand standards by offering property requests for revising or implementing new capabilities. Then, they will work with the properties to ensure they remain compliant with standards. This will be done by performing property visits, assisting with property budgets (P&L and Capital) and working with the home office regarding new capabilities being introduced into the properties.

Being the Virgin Hotels IT Director of Infrastructure and Operations also means you are assisting in best practices for IT staff on property and ensures that these practices are used throughout the business.

In helping you understand your role in working for a world class organization, the following is a list of your essential job responsibilities.   • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
  • Manage security operations, including incident response, vulnerability management, and threat detection.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement Operational policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and SOX.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
  • Manage and develop a team of IT infrastructure and security professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring they adhere to security requirements and provide timely support.
  • Lead and manage IT infrastructure and security projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor the performance of IT infrastructure and security systems, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of an outage or security breach.
  • Assist with Application and Field Needs and Support as needed.

Background must-have:

  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • 10 years of experience in Hospitality IT Operations, Infrastructure and Security is strongly preferred
  • University degree in Information Technology OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Highly motivated to work both independently and with cross functional teams
  • Strong communication skills; able to set expectations communicate status, progress on key initiatives to all levels of management/leadership
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify and drive process/system improvements
  • Strong knowledge of on-property hospitality technologies and how they interact with each other
  • Strong knowledge of desktop computing environment in a hotel and/or resort
  • Strong knowledge of hotel networking environment
  • Willingness to travel as deemed necessary (national & international)
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
